Samsung is working on a smartphone that will be launched early next year, according to the Wall Street Journal. This phone will have a 7-inch display that can bend into two halves to turn into a wallet shape. The outside of the device will still have a type of display. Because of the two displays, the company will have to build a larger battery, which is worrying about the previous Galaxy Note 7 battery problems. This phone may cost more than $ 1500 and will be first marketed to the right users, such as players.
This folding phone concept is not new to Samsung. This has been reported for years. In October last year, where we published pictures of Samsung's patent that showed the design of a bendable phone.
So the company said it works on this machine several times. In April 2017, Samsung Display's chief engineer, Kim Tae-woong, said that the company focused on the bare-edge displays first, and then turned into bends. The company has now introduced many phones with minimal edges, though not completely free from the edge, so it seems that the team may re-focus on something new. At the time, Samsung said it would probably launch a reversible phone in 2019, which coincides again with the newspaper's reports.
